Parents...

Whether your son already has been pledged or initiated at one of our chapters or is considering doing so, we welcome the opportunity to let you know about our fraternity and answer questions that you might have.

Phi Gamma Delta currently has chapters and colonies on over 140 campuses throughout the United States and Canada. Founded in 1848, our fraternity has a long history with great traditions and many famous members.

While we are proud of our heritage, we're well aware that you are most concerned with the experience your son will have in Phi Gamma Delta during his college years.

Please review our
Membership Development information to see how the Fraternity’s programs and activities reinforce our values of Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality and Excellence.

.

The Pledge Experience

We know that many parents and prospective members have questions about the pledging experience. That experience in Phi Gamma Delta should be positive and productive. Each chapter’s pledge program should emphasize a sound academic grounding and the development of friendships among all pledges and initiated members.

The Benefits of Membership

Some of the benefits of membership for your son are:

Opportunities to take advantage of personal development programs such as our
Taking the Lead initiative, created with Dr. Ken Blanchard, and alcohol education;

Inclusion in the Member Accident Protection Program. The program is intended to complement individual health insurance by covering injuries sustained in accidents, regardless of location.

Scholarships from the Phi Gamma Delta Educational Foundation.

New Member's Bill of Rights

New Member Bill of Rights

As a new member in Phi Gamma Delta, the New Member Education program in which you participate should allow you to:
  • Achieve the highest scholarship of which you are capable.
  • Gain fundamental knowledge of the history and organization of the chapter, Fraternity and college or university.
  • Develop an understanding of Phi Gamma Delta’s values and the correlation of your personal values with those of the Fraternity.
  • Demonstrate friendship and provide a conduit to build strong, lasting friendships.
  • Understand the benefits and responsibilities of membership in Phi Gamma Delta.
  • Develop organizational and leadership skills through responsibility and accountability.

If you ever have any concern about your son’s pledging experience, you are urged to contact Executive Director Rob Caudill or phone him at (859) 255-1848 ext. 131.
